This gallery will show some of the many Bus Rallies, particularly those in the North East, which I have been to either on my own, or with the 500 Group. My favourite Rally is the Tyne Tees Run organised by the HCVS and held on the first Sunday in June each year. It originally started on Stockton High Street (before it was vandalised) and went to Gypsy Green Stadium in South Shields. The views in this Rally's collection will show the changes and the vehicles which have appeared over the years. Hope you enjoy what you see.
About Me
I am a Transport Enthusiast/Historian with my primary area of interest being the North East. I also helped set up the 500 Group way back in 1988, and this is now a thriving preservation society specialising in Buses of Cleveland Transit and it's predecessors.
I have many other interests including Classical History, and researching sightings of Big Cats in the British Countryside.

This is one of those spooky photos, where you are destined to meet someone at some stage in your life. It is the 1986 Tyne Tees run which I went on with a couple of friends. I am driving the Blue mk3 Cortina (MWT728P) which is following the Coach. As we passed the photographer, we shouted and waved to him, and he waved back. In 1987, I went to the Transit Depot to take some photos, and met the inspector on duty, who I got to know quite well. I found out later that this inspector was the late Mr Johnny Walker, who took this photograph. Johhny and I were the two people who first got the 500 Group going back in November 1988! spooky or what?
